1999, Melissano, piccolo paese della provincia di Lecce. Una famiglia composta da padre, madre e sei bambini, è costretta a cucire tomaie di scarpe per tutto il giorno. Il guadagno quotidiano che l’intero nucleo familiare riesce a racimolare è al di sotto delle ventimila lire. Il lavoro a cottimo, l’ombra delle grandi e medie industrie calzaturiere, lo sfruttamento minorile: una storia di ordinaria quotidianità, una storia di “un paese normale”.

1999, Melissano: A small town in the Lecce province. A family made up of a father, a mother and six children, is forced to sew shoes all day long. The entire family scrapes together just over 20,000 lire a day. Piecework jobs, the shadow of large and medium- sized shoes industries, child exploitation: a story of ordinary daily life, of a “normal town.”
